JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Designer to join our team in Tisbury, Wiltshire. As Technical Designer, you will report directly to the company Design Manager. Your role will be to provide the drawing, quoting and technical support to aid our Sales Design team.
TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES
– draw kitchen designs to Guild Anderson standards from client meeting notes, sketch plans and survey.
– use Cabinet Vision design software to design kitchens and back of house spaces, occasionally supported using AutoCAD and Sketchup for detailed elements.
– develop quotations using software systems such as SMART and EQ.
– create specification sheets covering technical details and unusual points of your design.
– incorporate ongoing client amendments to layouts and quotations and re-issue to Design Manager, together with changes documents.
– working together with our Systems Engineer (a Cabinet Vision expert) and workshop staff to ensure designs are realistic and achievable within the quoted time.
We are a small company and expect flexibility; this list is not exhaustive, and input and work will be needed in all areas as required.

KEY SKILLS
– experience in Sketchup is an advantage.
– experience in Cabinet Vision design software is an advantage.
– AutoCAD or similar CAD experience.
– MS Excel ability an advantage.
– numerate, show the ability to quote thoroughly and accurately.
– methodical, able to prioritise and manage own workload, and detail oriented.
– a finisher, able to work through to the last detail.
– strong desire to learn and progress.

– at least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment

– a natural team member, able to build collaborative relationships with the diverse members of our team, subcontractors, suppliers and most importantly, clients.
– a self-starting, motivated person – we don’t expect long hours, but we do expect steady hard work throughout the day to get the job done.
– accuracy is core to everything we do and a skill which you will need to demonstrate.
– A candidate living within a sensible commute of our workshop and design studio with the ability to travel to client sites when necessary. This may require occasional flexibility in working hours.

- Design Studio opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm
- Based in Tisbury, Wiltshire
- Training provided
- 21 days holiday, paid in monthly arrears
- Pay commensurate with experience
- Initially offer a 3 month fixed term contract and if everyone is happy at the end of that we will offer a permanent contract
